Server log files

When the website is accessed, the web server processes technically required data (such as IP address, timestamp and requested file) in server logs. Processing is solely used to provide the website securely and reliably. Data is deleted once it is no longer required for these purposes. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

Beta application

When you apply for early access, we process your email address, the size class of your library, your Mac model, your macOS version, your testing focus and your time availability. The form transmits these details directly to us and stores them as an email in the controller's inbox. The data is used solely to select and run the test group and to contact you about the test version (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). To protect against automated submissions, a pseudonymised hash of the IP address is stored briefly in a temporary web-server directory for rate limiting. Applications that are not selected are deleted when the beta ends, or at the latest after six months. You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing jan@fallgatter.info.

The Gatterie app

The macOS app Gatterie requires no account and contains no advertising, telemetry or analytics SDK. Photos, videos, documents, metadata, profiles and settings are processed locally on your Mac. The app can access only folders you explicitly select in the native macOS dialog.

Optional generative AI features communicate exclusively with services running locally on your computer (LM Studio or Ollama over loopback). Apple Vision text recognition also runs on the device. No automatic transmission to the developer or to any cloud, advertising or analytics service takes place. Feedback is only sent on your explicit action through your email client. An optionally exported diagnostic report first remains a file on your Mac and contains no photos, file names, paths, descriptions, email addresses or licence data.
